mockbeggar stonechat

[i] hi im about to buy a nf foal by mockbeggar stonechat can anyone tell me abit about him was he a good stallion he has now been gelded.

He was good enough to pass the colt inspection and get his stallion licence!! In recent years it's been harder and harder to get a colt licensed and it's very sad that a young stallion has been gelded before he's had the chance to prove himself. He has no foals registered before this year, so yours is (one of) his first.

so why was he gelded?

apparently they had too many stallions and not enough grazing but he still runs on the forest??

He didn't run on the forest as a stallion - he wasn't selected by the verderers. If he had run out then he could have gone to winter grazing with the other forest run stallions. So that must mean that they didn't have enough grazing at home to keep him as a stallion. Once gelded he could go back out on the forest.

He was at the stallion passing six months ago, so he must have been gelded since then. I'll update his page.

Just looked on the pedigree site and it says mockbeggar stonechat was a mare........
